For students, IEEE (I-triple-E) is a vehicle for learning and growth. The umbrella organization of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) manages an interface allowing students to connect with its professional members through conferences, writings, videos and other means, to share in current technological development and grow with professionals who are deeply involved in evolving fields of engineering, research and development. In this capacity, the IEEE takes on the role of an ubiquitous student mentor. Through the auspices of the IEEE, students extend themselves out of the classrooms and into the real-world through their IEEE membership.

The IEEE provides coordination of effort, assistance and a sharing of resources among its members. Crucial to the act of coordinating effort, the IEEE is a standards organization, providing its members the capacity to facilitate standardization of technologies and by doing so, improves communication not only at the personal level, between members, but also, in terms of compatibility between their implementations and uses of technologies.

IEEE provides a bridge between a student's academic excellence and the professional world that awaits them. The IEEE, as an organization which supports academic achievement, has carefully considered many of the wants and needs of its members. Further it has taken on the mantle of stewardship, a commitment to help develope tomorrow's professionals. The bridge which the IEEE provides from academia to professionalism is in itself, very well concieved and crafted. It is a bridge between students and real-world professionals and it fosters success, for both.

Visit the IEEE site and explore the benefits they offer, from information access to discounts and services. Yes, much of the IEEE's offerings are free with membership. IEEE membership may be the best decision a student can make. Ask any IEEE member!

CSUEB Engineering

PIEEE is apart of the engineering community we have here on campus. CSUEB Engineering has a mission to unite all engineering students and keep them informed of events occuring on or around campus. The clubs that join PIEEE to form this community is Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Engineers for People, Planet, & Prosperity (EP3).
